Complete set of 12 vintage-era knife rests, French ceramic craftsmanship from the mid-20th century (1950s/1960s), in the typical style of the famous Vallauris / Saint-Clément manufactories. Each piece is finely molded in the shape of a lying poodle and finished with a glossy emerald-green glaze, which gives a beautiful shine and chromatic depth under light. The base is white unglazed terracotta ("bisque"), a hallmark of this period of production. The set is complete and presented in its original period case, externally lined with brick-orange faux leather with a reptile texture and internally in elegant white satin. A highly charming lot, perfect for enriching a refined retro-styled table setting as well as for mid-century modern and ceramic collectors.
