kokeshi - Doll Grote Creatieve Sōsaku Kokeshi Pop...

A beautiful and rare example of a Japanese Sōsaku (creative) Kokeshi doll, titled "Kasugano" (春日野). This masterpiece is designed and handcrafted by the highly respected and multi-award-winning artist Takashi Yoshida (1948–2007). The design of this particular doll is historically very important: in 1983 Yoshida won with this creation the prestigious Minister of Agriculture Prize during the national Japanese Kokeshi competition. The doll displays Yoshida's characteristic flowing and elegant style. The glossy jet-black hair falls like a neat mantle around her. The ocher-yellow kimono is beautifully adorned with finely engraved and hand-painted motifs of blooming plum blossoms (Ume), which symbolize resilience and the coming of spring. Her serene facial expression radiates deep calm. • In good vintage condition. Has some light, superficial wear/scratches in the lacquer (see detail photos), commensurate with age. No structural defects. A beautiful, authentic work of art and a valuable addition for any collector of Japanese art and design. When shipping within the European Union there are no clearance costs! The item will be carefully packaged and shipped. Please note that the packaging has been done by a private individual and not by a professional service, so perfect packaging quality cannot be guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.
