"Genrebillede. Roselil and her mother. In the middle of the painting a table. To the left Roselil in profile from the right by a wool winder. She looks with laughter at her mother, who sits behind the table with an admonishing look on her face tempered by a light smile as she raises a warning finger. The young girl is in a blue-violet dress, the mother in a brown dress with a white collar. In the background a low wall over which a lilac pours its branches with a multitude of flowers.
