Kuba Schirwan - Carpet - 310 cm - 137 cm - Hexagon columns

Description: Beautiful hand-knotted antique Caucasian rug. The striking design features repeated stylised geometric and floral motifs on a vibrant red ground, framed by an elegant angular border. Its rich palette combines red, ivory, orange, olive green, brown and touches of blue. The elongated format and bold geometric composition give the rug a distinctive tribal character. Natural variations in colour and signs of age contribute to its authentic antique appearance. A charming and unusual piece, ideal for adding colour, character and a touch of traditional craftsmanship to a contemporary or classic interior. The designs show affinities with published Shirwan Hexagon columns examples in Ian Bennett, Caucasian rug, p. 256 Dimensions: approximately 310 x 137 cm Age: end 19th century - early 20th century Condition: very good condition. Minimal trace of age
