Archive note La Perla began collaborating with icons of its time as early as the 1960s, when its pieces dressed stars like Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy. The link between fashion and show business continued over time until 2010, when the Bologna-based brand launched a collection designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, the same designer behind Madonna's famous cone bra, uniting the heritage of Italian lingerie with the more provocative and iconic aesthetics of French fashion.
