Labofa Møbler - Jacob Jensen - Office chair - Office / Desk Chair - PVC

Jacob Jensen for Labofa | Danish Design Office Chair | 1960s | Danish Modern. Some office chairs are made to disappear behind a desk. This one deserves a desk that suits him. A beautiful original Labofa office chair from the 1960s, designed by the renowned Danish industrial designer Jacob Jensen (1926–2015). Black leather, a refined metal construction, distinctive chrome wheels and an exceptionally elegant design. Scandinavian modernism in its most functional and stylish form. A design classic with history, personality and an excellent vintage condition. Jacob Jensen. The man behind iconic Danish design Jacob Jensen gained international fame as a designer for Bang & Olufsen. His designs are among the most recognizable examples of twentieth-century industrial design. His collaboration with the Danish manufacturer Labofa produced office chairs in which the same design principles recur: clean lines, technical precision, minimalism and a particularly keen eye for proportions. In this chair, the beautiful balance stands out between the generously upholstered seat, the separate backrest and the slender metal construction. The four-arm star base with its characteristic chrome wheel housings gives the chair an almost architectural look. And as good Danish design should do, everything is functional. The seat height and backrest are adjustable, the chair swivels and the four original wheels ensure smooth movement. The original Labofa markings are visible on the metal back structure and on one of the chrome wheel housings. A lovely detail for collectors and lovers of authentic vintage design. This chair calls for a special environment. Think of a beautiful teak desk, a minimalist interior with light oak, or a sleek architect’s office with steel, glass and vintage lighting. Also in a modern home office, creative studio or a carefully curated Mid-Century interior this is a striking piece of furniture. The design is modest in size, but absolutely not in appearance. And for the upcoming holidays? An original Jacob Jensen design is a bijzonder gift for lovers of Scandinavian design. Much more original than yet another new desk lamp.
