All auctions / Lighting / Lamp - Glass, burnished metal - Mid-Century Modern

Mid-Century hanging chandelier in worked glass "Bubble" and brass - Germany, 1960s/1970s Splendid and evocative vintage pendant ceiling light (plafonnière) dating from the late 1960s / early 1970s, superb example of Continental Mid-Century Modern lighting, in the style of famous German productions such as Glashütte Limburg or Doria Leuchten. The strength of this piece lies in the imposing circular shade in heavy, solid glass crafted by hand. The lower section features a rich "bubble" texture blown into the glass (bubble glass), while the side crown presents a dense vertical relief grooving. This particular artisanal workmanship ensures a spectacular and evocative light refraction, eliminating direct glare and creating a warm, geometric atmosphere in the room. The upper structure is made of metal with a brushed brass finish, enriched by a double ornamental crown with embossed feuille motifs in a classically retro style, topped by the original ring cable grip connected to the metal suspension chain. Vintage good condition. The glass is intact, free of any cracks or structural chips. The brass metalwork retains its beautiful original patina, with some signs of age that attest to its authenticity. • Height without chain about 30 cm
