HIGHLIGHTS: • Fully matching numbers 1954 Land Rover Series 1 including original wheels dated 02/54 • Three-owner vehicle with approximately 95,000 kms showing, sourced from a private collection • Comprehensive body-off restoration performed on a fully rust-free unit • Finished in original Bronze Green with an Exmoor replacement canvas top • Thoroughly overhauled running gear, mechanics, braking system, and rebuilt chassis HISTORY/OVERVIEW: The Land Rover Series 1, introduced in 1948, became an iconic symbol of rugged utility and durable engineering. Surviving early examples from dry climates like Spain are particularly prized by collectors for their remarkably preserved structural components. This 1954 Land Rover Series 1 is a three-owner vehicle showing approximately 95,000 kms on the odometer and comes directly from a private collection. Located in Sant Just Desvern, within the Baix Llobregat region of Barcelona, Spain, it has spent its life in a dry climate, enjoying an exceptional level of preservation. It retains its fully matching numbers status, including its original wheels dated 02/54. This low-mileage unit offers a smooth, authentic driving experience true to an early Series 1. BODYWORK & PAINT: During restoration, the body was completely removed from the chassis to perform a comprehensive overhaul on a fully rust-free structure. The bodywork was repainted to a high standard in its original Bronze Green color. All original galvanized parts remain in exceptional original condition, reflecting a vehicle that has always been stored under cover. It features a new replacement canvas top supplied by Exmoor. The chassis and firewall were sandblasted and repainted, proving to be in excellent, rust-free condition. INTERIOR: The cabin features original seats that have been fully reupholstered. As part of the interior restoration, the speedometer as well as the combined fuel and temperature gauges were dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, and fully serviced. MECHANICS: The running gear and mechanical systems have been thoroughly overhauled. The engine was dismantled to replace the piston rings, receive a redone cylinder head, and fit all new gaskets. The fuel and ignition systems feature a new petrol pump, distributor cap, points, condenser, spark plugs, and ignition cables, while retaining the original 1954 coil. The starter motor and dynamo are original units that were opened and serviced. The gearbox, transfer box, and front and rear axles were all opened and serviced. The braking system is completely new—including new brake lines—and a new clutch has been installed. DOCUMENTS: Information regarding registration papers, historic status, and current inspection documentation is available upon request from the seller. The vehicle is located in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona, Spain.
