Large Format Photo of Halley's Comet

Large format vintage gelatin silver print on resin coated paper. A rare large format image of Halley’s comet. This gloriously detailed image of Halley’s comet captures its ephemeral beauty as it speeds past the camera on its most recent visit near Earth. Next arriving in 2061, Halley’s Comet is the only short-period comet visible to the naked eye and as such has fascinated astronomers throughout history; it was first recorded in 240BC, making this photograph one of the last in a very long legacy. This image showcases the iconic form of Halley’s Comet with the stunningly bright head, diffusely glowing coma, and multiple tails all clearly visible.
