Large Nepalese 19th C. Copper Gagri Water Vessel

Central Asia, Nepal, ca. 19th century CE. A traditional gagri (ritual or domestic water vessel) hand-hammered from and molded entirely from copper. The form presents a broad, tapering body with gently curved shoulders leading to a narrow neck and a wide, flared rim used for pouring or ceremonial offerings. Rows of finely tooled geometric beading and stamped bands accent the upper body and broad rim, adding texture and decoration to the otherwise minimalist silhouette. Size: 11" W x 18" H (27.9 cm x 45.7 cm) Item # 197917
