Ca. 1100 - 900 BC. A cast bronze sword with a long, double-edged blade narrowing to a fine point and reinforced by a pronounced median rib. Ringed grips combined with crescentic fittings have close parallels in the south-western Caspian and Transcaucasian weapon traditions of the late second and early first millennia BC. The surface bears layered brown, green, and blue-green patination. Size: 430mm x 55mm; Weight: 360g Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired on the German art market during the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
