Very rare Roman vase in siliceous ceramic with a green glaze and relief decoration. A pinched-neck vase in fine clay covered with a pale green glaze. The vase rests on a flat circular base. Stocky body, flat shoulder, tall and wide neck pinched from its base, vertical handle connecting the shoulder to a slightly flared lip. The body is adorned with a relief vegetal frieze featuring flowers, grapevine leaves and grape clusters. Late Roman Empire, early Byzantine art, 4th/5th century AD. Height 12.3 cm - width 8.7 cm - Piece intact and not restored Inside the vase, a handwritten document mentioning a purchase in 1975 Provenance information: Germany, R.T.B. gallery.
