Laurent Casimir - Marché

Description in English Description: Superb and important oil (or acrylic) on canvas from the Haitian School, bearing the characteristic signature of Casimir harmoniously integrated into the decor in the lower right. This artwork stands out due to its large format (100 x 75 cm unframed), offering an exceptional visual and decorative impact. It is presented in its original rattan frame, highly typical of the period. Artistic Analysis: Far from simplistic naive representations, this painting demonstrates a remarkable mastery of composition. The artist delivers a rigorous geometry and a striking visual balance, strongly influenced by modern cubism. The intertwining of the stylized figures creates a unique dynamism, where the diagonal lines of the limbs perfectly balance the rounded shapes of the gathered fruits. The color palette is bright and luminous, offering intense and perfectly mastered contrasts. The fluidity and perfect integration of the signature within the composition itself highlight the high execution quality of this canvas, characteristic of the finest pieces from this famous artistic school.
