argos Panoptes In Greek myth, Argos Panoptes was a giant with a hundred eyes, so vigilant that he never slept completely: always some eye remained awake, guarding. At his death, Hera transferred those eyes to the tail of the peacock, the bird that since then bears with it the motif of eternal sight. This piece takes up the myth literally: two peacock heads —one on the crown, the other crossing the face— frame a feminine figure from which only one eye emerges. Between the birds and her closes a triad of gazes that sustains the entire composition, resolved in dense blues and greens, with a loose, textural brushstroke in the plumage that contrasts with the more delicate handling of the face. The pearl earring is a discreet nod to the tradition of the classical portrait, here interrupted by the intrusion of the animal and the symbolic. Work by Leandro Olano, entirely handmade. Technique: Acrylic on canvas Dimensions: 50.5 x 30.5 cm Authorship: 100% handmade Certificate: A certificate of authenticity is provided Shipping: Unstretched, in a professional transport tube for maximum protection This advertisement contains AI renderings.
