The device features several decade selectors for resistances, various connection terminals, as well as an integrated Leeds & Northrup galvanometer with a “CLAMP” function. This type of laboratory instrument was intended for the precise measurement and comparison of electrical resistances, based on the Wheatstone bridge principle. The plate bears the inscription “Leeds & Northrup Co. – Philadelphia, PA – Made in U.S.A.” as well as the number 865827. The ensemble presents a handsome patina with signs of use and wear consistent with its age.
