Square 8vo, blue morocco, fillet framing, spandrels featuring mosaic-style white lilies, both open and closed, spine decorated with the same flower, interior frame with corners adorned with the same mosaic flower, lining and endpapers of silk embroidered in gold and silver, edges gilt on endpapers, cover and spine, slipcase (Chambolle-Duru). First edition of this work, illustrated with 13 original etchings—including 9 insert plates and a cover—and 200 woodcut illustrations in the text. Printed in a run of 160 copies. Spine slightly faded; joints split along the height of one panel.
