Very beautiful small vase, purse-shaped or ball-shaped, with a neck bordered in gold, pinched inward and with an opaque frosted base, acid-etched, decorated with delicate violet flowers also acid-etched, from the famous French glassmaker François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916). It is part of the Montjoye series and was made in Saint-Denis. The Montjoye gold stamp is no longer present, but the vase is listed in many works, including Vitrat's. It bears at the bottom a small number 8 painted in gold. It is in very good condition, especially considering its age: over a hundred years old! No crack, no chip or flake. The gilding on the neck, on the leaves and stems of the flowers is still well preserved, as is the violet enamel of the acid-etched flower motif. A trace of the pontil on the bottom testifies to the artisanal glassblowing work. This vase is a very fine piece, very delicate and as prestigious as those from the same period by Daum, Gallé, Muller Frères, Schneider (Le Verre Français), Saint-Louis and Baccarat, made and/or designed in Lorraine in eastern France. Dimensions: 5.5 cm in height x 5 cm in diameter. Weight: 50 grams. Please study carefully all the photos which are an integral part of the description. Attention to collectors and/or lovers of fine decorative objects. Fast and very careful shipping.
