All auctions / Miscellaneous / Legras & Cie. - François-Théodore Legras - Vase - Nancy - mouth-blown glass

Sleek, hand-blown vase, produced around 1900. Design by the hand of F.T. Legras (1839-1916). Legras, together with Gallé, Daum and Lalique, is regarded as one of the glass master luminaries of this period. Hand-painted enamel decoration with a floral theme, typical of the Art Nouveau period. We recognize several refined anemones finished with gold decal accents. No cracks or damage. However, slight sinking of the glass at the top due to a combination of gravity and too high a temperature. (see photos). This imperfection makes this glassware unique. Two blemishes noticeable on the bottom of the vase. Not visible from the outside. This cobalt blue glassware is also listed in the catalog; “Legras; Verrerie artistique et populaire française” and it was given the name "Nancy". This collector's item is shipped with due care. #madeinfrance
