An iconic and very rare Leitz Summaron 35mm f/2.8 wide-angle lens offered in the highly sought-after M39 screw mount (Leica Thread Mount). This example, serial number 1810680, hails from the peak year 1960 and was produced by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany. Unlike the much more common M-mount, this original M39 version (factory code SIMOO) has become a rare collectible that fits vintage Barnack cameras (such as the Leica III series) perfectly, yet also performs superbly on Leica M bodies and modern digital system cameras with a simple adapter. Optical state: • Glass: In exceptional condition. Absolutely no scratches, no fungus, and no haze. • Both the front and rear elements are completely clear and clean, resulting in optimal optical performance. Mechanical state: • Focusing: Moves smoothly, evenly, and with proper damping across the entire range.
