Exceptional and rare pair of two-light table candelabra in silvered bronze, bearing the signature of the illustrious Parisian goldsmith Léon Lapar. Faithful to the neoclassical repertoire of the late 19th century, this pair features a sumptuous Louis XVI style decor. The central stem, finely fluted and ribbed, rests on a circular domed base adorned with a frieze of radiating dentils and delicate rows of pearls. The quality of the bronze chasing and the thickness of the silvering testify to the outstanding craftsmanship of this great Parisian house, rivaling the finest names on the Place Vendôme such as Christofle or Odiot. Léon Lapar operated from 1878 to 1897. The candelabra are in good condition, with just some wear, and will need cleaning.
