Leonard Kasmir - Sturdust (Large size 160 x 80 cm)

Original painting executed by hand Material: mixed media with tactile relief Sturdust is a tactile, visually striking work in which Leonard transforms the painted surface into a true tactile landscape. The composition arises from the meeting of sand, ivory, pearl, and beige tones, which progressively dissolve into a stretch of blue and turquoise, evoking the horizon between sky, earth, and sea. The surface is enriched with a dense layering of materials and pigments that creates a three-dimensional relief, making every part of the painting different from the others. Small tactile elements emerge from the surface like suspended fragments, creating play of light and shadow that changes throughout the day depending on the lighting. This is not simply an image to observe: the material becomes an integral part of the work. Leonard develops an artistic research strongly tied to matter, light, and the perception of space. His language is distinguished by the ability to combine a refined palette with rich and irregular surfaces, resulting in contemporary works with a sophisticated and strongly decorative appearance. The painting is conceived as a living surface: reliefs, stratifications, and material particles capture light and give the work a depth that is difficult to fully convey through a photograph. It is precisely this feature that makes Leonard’s works particularly suitable for contemporary settings, private collections, and places of representation. The title Sturdust evokes cosmic matter, stardust, and those luminous fragments that traverse space before becoming part of something new. Leonard brings this suggestion onto the pictorial plane: the surface of the work seems to gather fragments of light, sand, and matter, transforming them into an abstract landscape suspended between natural dimension and imagination. The chromatic transition from the light upper part to the turquoise lower part can be read as a journey to an undefined place, where sky, sand, and water seem to merge. Sturdust belongs to that kind of contemporary art which gains particular strength when viewed in person: the richness of the relief, the stratification, and the details of the surface are, in fact, essential elements of the experience of the work. The manual craftsmanship also makes each piece unique in its surface and tactile rendering. A painting that does not merely decorate a space, but transforms it through light, matter, and color. ⸻ Leonard, Sturdust Original work executed entirely by hand, characterized by a sophisticated tactile relief technique. The surface, rich in stratifications, pigments, and tactile inserts, builds a suggestive abstract landscape in pearly, sand, and turquoise tones. The work testifies to Leonard’s exploration of the relationship between matter, light, and perception, transforming the canvas into a three-dimensional surface capable of changing appearance depending on the lighting. An elegant and contemporary presence, particularly suited for private collecting and design environments, where the tactile component can be appreciated even up close. Dimensions: 160x80 cm Handmade.
