Leonard, Texas. $20 1882 Date Back. Fr. 554. First NB. Charter #5109. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. A handsome representative of a tough charter based out of Fannin County in North Texas. This evenly circulated Series of 1882 $20 Date Back issued by the First National Bank of Leonard (Charter# 5109) is a particularly fine example of the grade assigned that offers no shortage of original qualities and eye appeal. Here penned signatures of Cashier A.P. Grider and President Joe F. Hall set the standard while rich detail may be observed throughout the engraved design. Looking outwards from the title block, bidders are met with a sight evocative of the day this note circulated for the last time as the primary vignettes seen at left and right offer a level of detail that effortlessly overshadows apparent signs of technical circulation making this an exceptional representative of a charter that records only just nine non-institutional notes in the National Bank Note Census. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
