All auctions / Lighting / Leucos - Renato Toso

Exceptional and rare pendant lamp model "Tinta", designed in 1971 by the renowned designers Renato Toso and Noti Massari for the historic Italian glassworks Leucos. A true masterpiece of Space Age design and Murano craftsmanship. The lamp is characterized by an imposing, thick hand-blown Murano glass dome. The upper part, in elegant and opaque glossy black glass, gradually fades downwards transforming into a spectacular mosaic of large multicolored glass tesserae (large murrine). When lit, the lower band creates a breathtaking play of light and color, typical of Leucos’ best productions from the 1970s. The object is presented in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or breaks. There is a striking and natural air bubble embedded within the thick layer of transparent glass mass (visible in the detail photos). This should not be considered a defect, but rather intrinsic to and the ultimate guarantee of the authentic mouth-blown glass and the piece’s artisanal craftsmanship, which makes it unique. Original wiring from the period, featuring the typical spiral "telephone" cable, consistent with the production era. A professional check of the electrical system is always recommended to adapt it to modern standards. Impressive dimensions and substantial weight (approximately 7 kg of solid glass). A museological collectible piece, ideal for enriching environments with refined design. Packing will be done with the utmost care, tailor-made and with professional materials to guarantee the glass’s total safety during transport. Tracked and insured shipping.
