Leucos - Roberto Pamio - Hanging lamp - OSAKA S35...

"Sfera opalina con fascia trasparente integrata" or "opal glass sphere with integrated clear band" is the designation of Murano master glassmakers and the terminology of IUAV Venezia archives used for this impressive blown Murano glass sphere pendant composed of an opaline globe traversed by an integrated transparent band blown into the mass in the lower quarter. This is a vintage original OSAKA S35 lamp model highly sought after designed by the designer Roberto Pamio and dating production to 1965. The technique used is a classic Murano technique typical of LEUCOS that requires very great dexterity because the sphere is made in a single piece: - blowing the opaque milky white glass - adding a perfectly regular transparent band fused hot into the mass - final blowing to homogenize the shape - cold polishing of the upper opening LEUCOS authenticity is confirmed by the Leucos email attached to the photos, this lamp’s description appears in the brand’s vintage catalogs: - 1968 catalog (period photo + description provided by Leucos, the 2 documents are attached to the current photos) and also mentioned in the following documents: - 1976 catalog (pages 36 - 40, section sospensioni in vetro soffiato) - 1980 catalog (page 35) - 1982 catalog (pages 32 - 37) LEUCOS production is typical (minimalist cylindrical ceiling plate in painted metal, steel cable). Regarding technical specifics: the sphere is perfectly round and has a diameter of 35 cm at the center the current total height is 120 cm with the possibility to extend the power cord and the steel cable by about 40 cm if needed. The lamp is in very good condition (one imperceptible micro-scratch on the top) It will be carefully packaged in a sealed carton with polystyrene on all sides to maximize security. Shipment with insurance I would, however, prefer pickup at my home.
