Lieutenant Colonel William Henry 'Harry' Turton, RE (1856-1938) - The Turton Pedigree, compiled from 1897, manuscript on paper, prefaced by the illuminated Turton coat of arms, 44, 49-198, 301-409 (index), 423-448pp (watercolour shield illustrations of coat of arms of family's allied to the Turtons), genealogical notes and family pedigrees, some of the latter illustrated by Turton's innovation - a semi-circle of five or six generations of ancestors for any given person, transcribed in a finely bound Army & Navy Corporative Society Limited ledger of black calf over boards, blind foliate rolled boarders, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, folio (44.5 x 30.5cm); two of the latter Turton's printed works, The Early Lancashire Turtons: Up to A.D. 1400, July 1934, ffep with manuscript note on the surname's etymology, [&] The Truth of Christianity, eleventh edition, 1931, each in original cloth, 8vo; George F. Turton, of 'Southwood', Nuthall, Nottinghamshire, four manuscript notebooks on the Turtons, dated October, 1938-April, 1939, research and transcripts from primary sources, one volume solely comprises Turton wills & administrations in the consistory & peculiar courts of Lichfield, the first volume with tipped-in printed and some manuscript ephemera, including an 1848 street plan of Heanor by James Murphy, Civil Engineer, early 19th c and later leaves from family Bibles, pen-and-ink drawing of an 18th c family silver loving cup, early 19th c trade correspondence, etc., uniformly bound in contemporary roan over moiré boards, marbled edges, foolscap; William Henry Turton, of Barlborough House, Heanor, Reminiscences, 1938, [&] Remembrances, The Long Steep Hill, c. 1942, two manuscript narratives, probably unpublished, notebook and foolscap sheets; Rev Richard Jowett Burton (1870-1937), of Heanor, Derbyshire, Volumes I [& II] of manuscript, 1887-1888 (August 25th) & September 1888, inscribed with antiquarian, genealogical and historic notices of Heanor and surrounding Derbyshire parishes and their families, mixed contemporary bindings, 4to; Homer (Frederick Augustus) & James (Rev.
