This painting presents a wide rural landscape dominated by gentle hills, luminous fields and a sky of great intensity. The scene extends into depth from the dark vegetation in the foreground to the elevations in the background, where a small cluster of houses appears. The whole ensemble conveys a powerful sense of spaciousness, freedom, and connection with nature, as if the viewer were contemplating the valley from an elevated vantage point. The foreground is formed by a strip of abundant vegetation where greens, yellows, blues, browns and reddish tones mingle. The plants and shrubs appear distributed irregularly, creating a living, changing terrain. This area adds depth to the composition and establishes a transition between the place from which the landscape is observed and the extensive fields that occupy the central part. On the right side rises a group of tall, stylized trees that acts as one of the main reference points. Their dark trunks ascend vertically and support canopies formed by deep greens, bluish tones, and small bright reflections. The density of this plant group contrasts with the openness of the hills and provides a sense of refuge within the vastness of the landscape. The shapes of the trees are not rigid or completely uniform. Some branches seem to sway or lean under the wind, while the canopies mix with each other, forming a single mass of vegetation. This sense of movement brings energy to the painting and visually connects the trees with the clouds that traverse the sky. The hills occupy most of the composition and are built with a rich variety of greens, yellows, and earthy tones. Their surfaces show gentle undulations that lead the eye from the foreground to the horizon. The lighter areas appear to receive direct light, while others remain shaded with greenish and bluish shadows that emphasize the relief of the terrain. A path or small separation between the fields seems to advance from the central part toward the village. This barely defined line creates a visual direction and allows us to imagine a road that traverses the landscape. Its winding course reinforces the depth of the scene and suggests the existence of daily life connected to these fields, though no human figure is visibly present. In the distance lies a small village formed by several light-colored houses with reddish roofs. The buildings are distributed horizontally at the foot of a green hill, blending naturally with the surroundings. Their small size helps us understand the vast scale of the landscape and conveys the sense of a tranquil community, surrounded by cultivated lands and protected by nearby elevations. Among the houses stands a narrow tower that rises above the rooftops. Its vertical shape gently breaks the horizontal line of the village and becomes a reference point in the distance. The tower allows us to imagine the town center and adds a traditional character to the scene, evoking the silhouette of a rural church seen from the fields. The hill behind the village features light-green and yellowish tones that make it stand out against the dark sky. At its summit, small masses of vegetation appear, distributed like deep splotches on the illuminated surface. This elevation acts as a natural boundary, separating the land's tranquility from the atmospheric stirring of the upper part. The sky occupies a considerable extent and is composed of intense blues, purples, greys, and whites. The clouds move with large irregular shapes that seem to traverse the landscape rapidly. Some areas are bright and luminous, while others become deep and almost nocturnal, creating a strong contrast that fills the scene with drama. The relationship between land and sky is one of the most expressive aspects of the composition. The fields are bathed in a yellow-green light, while a dense and changing atmosphere concentrates above them. This opposition allows us to imagine a moment just before the rain, when the sun still illuminates parts of the valley and the clouds begin to gather on the horizon. The color variety brings intense vitality to the landscape. Light greens convey freshness, yellows suggest the presence of light, and dark blues introduce depth and mystery. The small reddish and brown details in the foreground and the village balance the scene, adding warmth within a composition dominated by natural colors. The absence of people reinforces the feeling of silence and distance. However, the presence of the village and the roads suggests that the landscape is inhabited and worked. The scene seems to capture a moment of pause in which human activity is momentarily hidden, allowing nature, wind, and light to become the true protagonists. The painting can be interpreted as a celebration of rural life and the balance between humanity and the territory. The village appears discretely integrated into the hills, without imposing on them, while the fields extend freely around it. The force of the sky reminds us that nature remains in constant transformation and that every moment of the landscape possesses a different atmosphere. Overall, this painting offers a vibrant and deeply evocative view of an open countryside landscape under a changing sky. The green and yellow hills, the small village with its tower, the group of dark trees, and the blue clouds create a scene full of movement, depth, and emotion. The work invites contemplation of the vastness of nature and conveys a combination of rural serenity, atmospheric energy, and freedom.
