Longines Master Collection L2.708.4 – 38.5 mm – automatic – power reserve – date – silver Guilloché dial – caliber L602.2 This Longines Master Collection L2.708.4 is a classical automatic model from the Master Collection, crafted in full stainless steel. The watch has a diameter of 38.5 mm and combines a silver-colored guilloché dial with large black Arabic numerals and characteristic blued hands. A distinctive detail of this model is the power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. In addition, the watch features a date window at 3 o’clock. Through the transparent case back, the automatic Longines L602.2 caliber is visible. ────────────────── Basic information Brand: Longines Collection: Master Collection Reference: L2.708.4 Estimated year of construction: circa 2005–2010 Diameter: 38.5 mm Case material: stainless steel Dial: silver-colored guilloché Movement: mechanical automatic Caliber: Longines L602.2 Functions: hours, minutes, central seconds, date and power reserve Case back: transparent Bracelet: stainless steel Longines bracelet Clasp: Longines-signed folding clasp Wrist size: approximately 18 cm ────────────────── Important details This L2.708.4 stands out within the Master Collection for the combination of a classic guilloché dial and a mechanical power-reserve indicator. The large black Arabic numerals, together with the blued hands, give the Master Collection its recognizable classic look. The power-reserve indicator is set in a recessed section at 6 o’clock and shows how much mainspring force the mechanical movement still has available. At 3 o’clock there is a separate date window. The watch is fitted to a stainless steel Longines bracelet with alternating polished and brushed surfaces. ────────────────── Estimated year of construction Estimated year of construction: circa 2005–2010 The L2.708.4 belongs to an earlier generation of the Longines Master Collection and is equipped with the L602.2 caliber. This combination matches pieces from the second half of the 2000s. Without dated documentation, an estimated production period of circa 2005–2010 is therefore assumed for this piece. ────────────────── Case The round case is made of stainless steel and features the classic design characteristic of the Master Collection. Diameter: 38.5 mm Material: stainless steel Finish: predominantly high-gloss polished Bezel: smooth and polished Crown: Longines-signed Back: transparent The case has slim, gently curved lugs and a relatively narrow polished bezel, allowing a large portion of the front to be taken up by the dial. The polished surfaces show light brushing and superficial signs of use that are consistent with normal wear. No notable heavy damage is present. ────────────────── Dial The silver-colored dial features a fine guilloché texture and is one of the most recognizable elements of this model. Dial color: silver/white Finish: fine guilloché pattern Hour markers: large black Arabic numerals Hour hand: blued Minute hand: blued Central second hand: blued Date: window at 3 o’clock Power reserve: indicator at 6 o’clock Minute track: separate scale along the outer rim Inscription: Longines and Automatic Origin mark: Swiss Made The blued hands, depending on the light, take on a color ranging from very dark blue to bright steel blue. The recessed power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock has a fan-shaped scale and its own blued pointer. The dial presents itself very neatly, and the numbers, scales and inscriptions look crisp and well finished. ────────────────── Power reserve indicator A notable feature of this Master Collection is the mechanical power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. This indicator shows how much energy remains in the watch’s mainspring. While wearing the watch and by manually winding it, the spring is re-tensioned, after which the pointer again indicates the available power reserve. The power-reserve function provides this model with an extra functional aspect and also forms a striking visual element of the dial. ────────────────── Movement Caliber: Longines L602.2 Type: mechanical automatic Frequency: 28,800 vph Functions: hours, minutes, central second, date and power-reserve indicator Power reserve: approximately 42 hours The automatic movement is visible through the transparent case back. The rotor bears the marking L602.2 and Longines branding. The visible parts of the movement are decoratively finished, in keeping with the classic orientation of the Master Collection. ────────────────── Crown The grooved crown is adorned with the Longines-winged hourglass logo. The crown’s shape and polished finish complement the classic case well and provide sufficient grip for setting and manual winding. ────────────────── Case back The case back is transparent, allowing the automatic movement to be seen. Around the viewing window are inscriptions such as The Longines Master Collection, All Stainless Steel, Water-Resistant and Swiss Made. Because of the glass back, the rotor and parts of the mechanical L602.2 caliber are visible. Around the polished stainless steel edge of the case back there are light signs of use and hairlines. ────────────────── Stainless steel bracelet The watch is equipped with a stainless steel Longines bracelet with multiple links. The center portions of the links have a brushed finish, while other parts are polished. This creates a subtle contrast between matte and glossy surfaces. The bracelet shows light to normal signs of wear and some superficial scratches and hairlines. The current wrist size is approximately 18 cm. ────────────────── Clasp The steel bracelet features a Longines-signed folding clasp. Both the Longines name and the winged hourglass logo are engraved on the clasp. The polished parts of the clasp show a few fine scratches and hairlines consistent with normal use. ────────────────── Water resistance This version was originally supplied with a water resistance of about 3 bar / 30 meters. With a used watch, the original water resistance cannot be guaranteed without a recent pressure test. ────────────────── Condition Case: neat used condition with light hairlines and superficial signs of wear Bezel: light wear on the polished finish Dial: very neat condition Crystal: neat condition Hands: blued and well maintained Crown: Longines-signed Back: transparent, with light signs of use on the steel edge Movement: automatic Longines L602.2 Bracelet: stainless steel Longines bracelet with light to normal signs of wear Clasp: Longines-signed folding clasp Wrist size: approximately 18 cm ────────────────── Overall condition A well-maintained Longines Master Collection L2.708.4 with a diameter of 38.5 mm and a particularly handsome classic configuration. The silver guilloché dial, large black Arabic numerals and blued hands give the watch the distinctive look of the early Master Collection. The power-reserve indicator at 6 o’clock forms both a technical and visual distinguishing feature of this model, while the date window at 3 o’clock provides added daily usability. The polished stainless steel case and bracelet show light to normal signs of wear, mainly in the form of fine scratches and hairlines. The dial and crystal present themselves neatly. Through the transparent case back, the automatic Longines L602.2 caliber is visible.
