Longines Nonius Chronograph – Ref. 8271-1 – Cal. 330 / Valjoux 72 – circa 1970 Description Magnificent Longines Nonius Chronograph ref. 8271-1, manufactured around the early 1970s. The Nonius is one of Longines' most distinctive vintage chronographs. Its name comes from the nonius or vernier measurement system, used in precision instruments. Longines translated this concept to the watch with its characteristic orange central hand, designed to facilitate a more precise reading of the chronograph. This piece features the prestigious manual-wind Longines 330 caliber with 17 jewels, based on the Valjoux 72, one of the most well-known chronograph movements of its time. Main features: - Reference: 8271-1 - Caliber: Longines 330 / base Valjoux 72 - 17 jewels - Manual winding - Stainless steel case - Original inner case back signed Longines - Signed crown Longines - Orange Nonius hand The watch runs perfectly and has been recently serviced by a watchmaker. The chronograph functions correctly: start, stop, and return-to-zero. Shows signs of wear and patina consistent with its more than 50 years, clearly visible in the photographs, which are part of the description. A very interesting piece for Longines and vintage chronograph collectors, both for its unique Nonius design and for its valued 330 caliber. Extras: No box or papers. Shipping: Worldwide shipping by express registered mail, UPS, SEUR, DHL or similar. Customs duties are not included; if any apply, the buyer will pay them.
