Loren Artemis (XX-XXI) - L’attesa in un calice

Artist: Loren Artemis Technique: Oil on canvas Dimensions: 45x35 cm Title: The Wait in a Goblet A woman with a black bob supported by her hands, adopts a pose that combines immobility, elegance, and introspection. The geometric cut of the fringe frames the eyes and highlights the direct gaze, while the lips in intense red and rosy cheeks introduce warm accents to the fair complexion. The arms, placed at the sides of the face, create a compact composition and guide the viewer's attention to the protagonist's expression. In the foreground, a goblet containing a golden drink adds transparency and luminous reflections. A bottle and a second glass in the background hint at the setting of an establishment and open up the possibility of a story left deliberately suspended. The deep blue of the chair contrasts with the black of the dress and hair, while the light tones of the wall and the table lighten the whole. The painting finds its strength in the tension between the simplicity of the gesture and the ambiguity of the gaze, evoking a moment of waiting, contemplation, or quiet observation.
