Lot of (4) Canton, Maine. Canton Bank. 1856 $1, $2, $3, & $10. Fine

Lot of (4) Canton, Maine. Canton Bank. 1856 $1, $2, $3, & $10. Fine to Very Fine. A pleasing group of notes hailing from a bank with little need for a town. Many notes were sold to speculators far removed from Maine which didn't allow for much redemption. The bank closed roughly a year after it opened. The $3 note is particularly scarce. Estimate: $300 - $500. Provenance: From the John P. Burnham Collection.

Estimate:£0.75
