ca. 1750, Paris, the gilt-bronze waisted case decorated with foliage, rocaille and C-scrolls, the pierced body backed with later red silk and later embellished with porcelain flowers on green tole stems, on four scroll feet, the enameled dial with Roman numerals and Arabic chapters, and a gilt fleur-de-lis between each hour, inscribed "GILLE L'AINE / A PARIS".
