[LOUIS XVI / JUDICIAL DOCUMENT] Motion to appear filed by Mr. Louis Jourdan, attorney in Luyg… Espagnac. January 1784. Manuscript in brown ink on paper; several pages written on a sheet that was previously folded. A judicial document from the Ancien Régime bearing the date January 1784 at the top and the notation “Petition for a writ of summons.” Several handwritten annotations and signatures. An interesting document for the history of French legal proceedings at the end of the reign of Louis XVI. Condition: significant creases, irregular edges with small tears, browned paper, and a few stains; handwriting generally legible.
