It is a beautiful example of furniture art in the Louis XVI style. The wooden frame is finished with a moody light gray/creme patina with a subtly weathered 'shabby chic' look, which nicely accentuates the carving and the history of the piece. The chair rests on gracefully fluted (grooved), tapering legs with floral motifs above the front legs, typical for this style.
