Lovely carboniferous Calamites tree cone (fruit)...

This lovely carboniferous plant fossil is a rare complete cone of a Calamites tree, called Calamostachys! Great quality and contrast! The stone was found by myself in August 2026 in the region of the district Saarland in Germany. Found in rest material that came out of the former coal mines in this region. The fossil is between 309 and 302 million years old.
