Luxurious Bow Brooch With 6.00 ct Diamonds in Platinum, c. 1925

In retrospect, few decades are considered as exciting, glamorous and luxury-loving as the 1920s. The jewellery of that time does not detract from this impression: forged from platinum, richly set with diamonds, of masterly workmanship and an almost enchanting beauty. All these qualities are combined in this bow brooch. In its center sparkles an exceptionally high quality two-carat diamond of fine white colour (F – G), graded with clarity IF – VVS. Another 131 diamonds of 4.00 ct together occupy the entire surface of the bands. They are set in platinum to emphasize their brilliance and white colour; the needle and clasp alone are made of gold, a common choice at the time. The ribbon bows lie elegantly stylized on top of each other, creating a sculptural and dynamic impression. Their jagged ends appear as if they have been caught in a gust of wind. The recesses masterfully hand-sawn into the platinum complement the dynamic composition with their arrow-like arrangement. It is details such as these that turn what is actually a classical motif into a modern deco jewel. The brooch comes with an in-house certificate as well as an external diamond appraisal. An exemplary piece of Art Deco diamond jewellery, well preserved and of outstanding craftsmanship and material quality.
