This ring shows the classic combination of light-coloured diamonds with a midnight blue sapphire. It sets the large, natural stone weighing 2.50 carats in a frame of twelve brilliant-cut diamonds of white colour. The stones have a total weight of around 2.25 carats with very good colour and clarity (G, vsi). The sapphire is cut as a rectangular octagon. Its intense, dark blue forms an attractive contrast to the bright white of the diamonds. In fact, these darker sapphires were very fashionable in the 1970s and early 1980s. We often find them in entourage rings of the era. The settings of the stones and the ring band are made of white gold, which beautifully rounds off the cool play of colours. The gallery also allows plenty of light to reach the gemstones. The ring came to us from Vienna and is a unique handmade piece from around 1980. An independent appraisal from the Gemmologisches Labor Austria is enclosed with the ring.
