M.B.L.M - L'art de conserver sa santé, composé par l'école de Salerne - 1776

Rare edition of this treatise on preventive medicine and hygiene, which presents, in an accessible form, the principles for preserving the body, avoiding illness, and prolonging life through a balanced lifestyle. The work aligns with the long tradition of the famous Regimen Sanitatis Salernitanum, a text attributed to the School of Salerno, which greatly helped spread in Europe practical guidelines concerning diet, sleep, exercise, daily habits, and overall health maintenance. Rather than seeing medicine solely as a means to treat diseases once they appear, the book places essential emphasis on prevention, inviting everyone to observe the needs of their organism and to adopt a discipline capable of maintaining balance between the body’s various functions.
