M. Delormel - La Grande Période, ou Le Retour de l'Age d'Or - 1805

Ancient work by Jean Delormel, The Great Period, or the Return of the Golden Age, in its third edition revised and corrected, published in Paris in 1805. This curious book develops a theory on astronomical cycles, variations of the seasons, natural catastrophes, and the return of a Golden Age. It also presents philosophical reflections on nature, humanity, and the organization of society. The copy is preserved in a brown leather binding adorned with motifs and gilded decorations. It includes an engraved portrait of the author as frontispiece as well as an engraved plate featuring several astronomical figures. Condition: the binding is generally well preserved for its age, with rubbing and signs of use. The paper is aged and yellowed, with some foxing and scattered stains.
