Magazine rack - Oak

Magazine rack - Oak

Antique oak newspaper stand (also known as magazine table or newspaper rack), typically from the first half of the 20th century (circa 1920s or 1930s). The practical, dual-function piece of furniture was designed to be placed in the living room or next to an armchair: • Top: It has two recessed, leather-lined tray sections that served as a storage table (for example, for placing a coffee cup, ashtray or book), and a handle in the middle for easy portability. • Bottom: A spacious, divided or continuous wooden storage compartment, specifically designed for vertical storage of newspapers, journals or magazines. It often has French or English neo-baroque or Empire style features, as shown by the wavy, profiled edges and the coffered wood carvings on the front. The dividing wall of the newspaper holder section can be removed if someone wants to put books in it, for example. It is in absolutely flawless condition. We can post it carefully packaged, in an insured, registered package.
