Auf einer kreisrunden Plinthe erhebt sich eine monumentale, skulpturale Komposition in Form einer Distelpflanze. An der Basis ornamental angeordnete, charakteristisch strukturierte Seerosenblätter und Knollenformen, aus denen noppenartig reliefierte Stängel emporragen. Bekrönt von einer großen, kugelförmigen Distelblüte mit fein gehämmerter, plastisch strukturierter Oberfläche. Mittig im Blattwerk integrierte, einflammige Brennstelle. Das Modell „Au Chardon“ gehört zu den markantesten und gestalterisch kühnsten Entwürfen von Maison Jansen aus der Phase des Hollywood Regency. Es verbindet florale Eleganz mit der rauen, kraftvollen Texturierung des Brutalismus. Guter, altersgemäßer Originalzustand. Das Messing mit schöner, gewachsener Alterspatina und minimalen Oxydationsspuren. Der schwarze Lacksockel mit sichtbaren Bereibungen und Altersspuren. Rising from a circular plinth is a monumental sculptural composition in the form of a thistle plant. At the base, ornamentally arranged water-lily leaves and bulbous forms with richly textured surfaces give rise to stem elements with relief-like nodular detailing. The composition is crowned by a large spherical thistle blossom with finely hammered and deeply textured surface treatment. A single light socket is integrated centrally within the foliage. The model Au Chardon ranks among the boldest and most distinctive designs produced by Maison Jansen during the Hollywood Regency period, combining floral elegance with the rugged, expressive texturing associated with Brutalist design. Good age-related original condition. The brass with an attractive, naturally developed patina and minor traces of oxidation. The black lacquered base with visible rubbing and signs of age.
