Makayhos - [Canvas] Ghostface Killer – Silent Scream

The work depicts the hooded figure with the face covered by the iconic screaming white mask, captured in a state of ominous stillness as it grips a red-stained blade with both hands in front of a petrified forest. The figure and the broad folds of the dark cloak emerge with a strong physical and three-dimensional presence from the stone-like material of the background, defining a perfect contrast between the fluid and dramatic forms of the drapery, the textures of the carved branches, and the finely worked surface of the marble. The precious gold veining that runs through the dark mantle, the mask, and the frame represents an explicit reference to the centuries-old art of Kintsugi, highlighting the value of cracks to symbolize the beauty of suspense, the fragmentation of terror, and the ennoblement of primordial fears through the artistic reassembly of fragments. It should be noted that the work is not a real marble bas-relief or a physically three-dimensional sculpture, but rather the visual effect of a 2D canvas designed to offer an optical illusion of exceptional depth and tactile relief. A conceptual artwork for a collection, where the imagery of contemporary horror cinema meets the rigor of classical sculpture and the philosophy of imperfection.
