The work depicts the sculpted silhouette of a human face shaped by dense brushstrokes in shades of blue and white, whose surface opens at the center to reveal a tempestuous inner ocean characterized by choppy waves, dark clouds and lightning. The figure emerges with a vibrant and dramatic physical and three-dimensional presence from the stone matter, creating a perfect harmony between the raised pictorial material and the deep inner cavity. The precious gold veining running through the marble surface and the carved frame explicitly recall the ancient art of Kintsugi, highlighting the value of cracks to symbolize the beauty of vulnerability, the acceptance of emotional turmoil, and the ennobling of the fractures of the soul with the gold of time. It should be noted that the work is not a true marble bas-relief or a three-dimensional sculpture, but the visual effect of a 2D canvas designed to offer an optical illusion of exceptional depth and material relief. A conceptual artwork for collection, where inner turmoil and psychological exploration meet the discipline of classical sculpture and the philosophy of imperfection. ⠀ Disclaimer: This artwork is an artist’s interpretation and is not an official or licensed product.
