Manifattura Italiana - Armchair - Malacca

Manifattura Italiana - Armchair - Malacca

Italian Manufacture - Armchair - Malacca, bamboo, India reed, wicker, rush - Reclining backrest and footrest. Rimini model. A CHAIR, 1960s. Adjustable backrest, removable footrest, side magazine rack. Malacca, bamboo, India reed, wicker, rush. For indoor, outdoor, terrace, veranda and poolside. On the market, when you’re lucky enough to find it, they ask more than 2000 euros. My grandparents used it with manic care, in fact it is in excellent condition. There are objects that decorate a space, and there are pieces that define its soul. This extraordinary 60s lounge chair unquestionably belongs to the second category: a true manifesto of rattan and India cane design, capable of evoking the relaxed charm of modernist villas, sea-view terraces and the most refined interiors of the era. Its sinuous, sculptural lines are a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. The adjustable backrest allows you to find the ideal relaxed position, while the handy removable footrest transforms the seat into a true chaise longue, inviting you to indulge in reading, conversation, or simply the pleasure of resting. Completing the design, the ingenious side magazine rack, a typically Sixties detail, which tells of a concept of design in which every element had a precise purpose without sacrificing elegance. Made entirely in India cane and rattan, this chair expresses the craftsmanship of an era in which natural materials were worked with care and transformed into genuine furnishings. The warm tone of the cane lends visual lightness and makes the piece incredibly versatile, perfect as much in a contemporary loft as in a Mediterranean-styled home, in a conservatory, or in an environment with a vintage flavor. It is a seating that does not go unnoticed: elegant, scenographic and rich in personality. A piece of furniture for those who love authentic design and wish to bring into their home an object capable of telling a story, instantly creating a welcoming, sophisticated and timeless atmosphere. A rare testimony of the best Italian design of the 1960s, ready to become the focal point of any space. Malacca, Wicker, India cane, Bamboo, Rush, Midollino Measurements: 180x100x67 cm L max: 202 cm L MIN 93 cm (open-closed)
