Mantel clock - golden metal - 1900-1910

Antique French mantel clock in Louis XVI/Neoclassical/Rococo style, dating from the second half of the 19th century (circa 1880–1900). The architectural gilded-metal case is richly decorated with volutes, floral motifs and garlands in the Neoclassical/Louis XVI style. Porcelain plaques decorated with inserts and hand-painted porcelain medallions in Sevres-style, including an upper oval medallion with the portrait of a woman's face and lower plaques with floral motifs. The circular dial features Roman numerals. Note a dent on the right foot as highlighted in the photo.
