Authentic Art Deco/Amsterdam School mantel clock (1930s) with Kienzle movement featuring an escapement! This characteristic chimney clock is a stunning example of Dutch design from the interwar period. The symmetrical wooden case is finished with a high-quality, striking striped veneer, giving the clock a luxurious and warm appearance. The dial features the typical stylized angular Art Deco numerals and a chrome lunette. The clock rests on elegant chrome ball feet. Inside there is the original mechanical brass movement from the German manufacturer Kienzle. This movement is equipped with a balance wheel (escapement) instead of a pendulum. This clock will keep running even if laid on its back! In authentic vintage condition with light signs of aging that suit its age. The movement runs fine, but the striking spring needs to be renewed; it overruns. Shipping via PostNL, insured and trackable. Pickup available in Veldhoven.
