Mantel clock - Metal - 1960-1970 - Schmid pendulum clock / desk clock

Decorative mechanical table clock / pendulum clock by Schmid, executed in neo Rococo / Louis XV style. The clock has a richly decorated metal case with gold-colored, brass-colored ornamentation and a traditionally shaped dial with Roman numerals. The dial bears the name Schmid. The movement carries the brand SSS Fabrik Marke. Height: approx. 36 cm. Probably manufactured in West Germany in the period around 1960–1975. The clock is currently not tested working. There is no winding key present. The pendulum has been gently moved, but stops quickly. The striking mechanism could not be tested reliably as a result. The exact execution of the striking mechanism has therefore not been confirmed. The object shows normal signs of use and aging consistent with its age.
