All auctions / Contemporary Art / Mara. J XL - Malachite Thicket
The green rises from the bottom like a slow tide: at the bottom it thickens until it becomes almost night, then it lightens as it climbs, until a suspension of mint and silver. The leaves are pressed one atop the other in short, granular layers, which bring the texture of the canvas to the surface and hold light at the edges. Delicate purplish stems thread through the vegetation from bottom to top, the only cool note in a surface all calibrated to greens. Here and there golden spots light up among the leaves, tiny and scattered without apparent order, as if light were filtering intermittently. It is an image of quiet growth, where density does not weigh but breathes. Signed and dated 2026 in the bottom right Image size: 95 x 75 cm Overall canvas size: 105 x 85 cm The work is sold without a frame; it will be rolled and shipped in a cardboard tube. The certificate of authenticity is issued exclusively upon request, in digital format. Mara J. explores the beauty and intensity of nature and the human body, creating works that tell emotions and states of mind through light and form. Her landscapes evoke fluid, suspended atmospheres, where color and luminosity shape the space, while human figures, delicate and introspective, become a means of emotional expression. Each painting is an invitation to immerse oneself in a world of subtle sensations, where nature and the human being intertwine in a deep dialogue.
