Marantz - Model 4240 2/4-Channel Quadradial...

Le Marantz 4240 is considered one of the most remarkable Marantz "receivers" of the 70s. Produced between 1974 and 1978, this amp-tuner delivers 2x 40 watts into 8 ohms in stereo mode and 4x 17 W in quadraphonic mode with the legendary Marantz sound: warm, detailed and incredibly musical. While its competitors of the era were chasing watts, Marantz focused on technique and musical quality. The exclusive Marantz Vari-Matrix circuit simulates quadraphonic immersion from a dedicated decoder. Today, it mainly operates in stereo mode and the result lives up to its reputation.
