After university studies in law and geography history and a stint at the ECPA, he becomes a photojournalist in 1976. He notably covered the Lebanese conflict independently, before joining VSD in 1978, where he produced for more than twenty years very diverse reportage: conflicts, adventures, sport, society and personalities. His photographic archive today holds particular interest for press and collectible photography. Marc Simon prints are regularly offered at auction: Daniel Balavoine, Jane Birkin, César, international scenes, Senegal, Leningrad or Albania.
