Marcel Stebler (1893-1981) - Barcos de pesca al atardecer en la costa

An impressive and dramatic oil on panel by the renowned Swiss painter Marcel Stebler (1893-1981), famous for his powerful marine scenes and his mastery of impasto painting. The work stands out for a sublime light contrast: the vibrant red sail of the fishing boats stands out over the bluish and golden reflections of the water under a leaden and theatrical sky. The technical execution combines energetic brushstrokes and a rich play of oil textures that give great relief and three-dimensionality to the surface. -Highlights: Signature: Clearly signed by the artist in the lower left corner: "M. Stebler". Support and condition: Oil on panel (táblex), preserved in magnificent original condition. Framed: Presented in its vintage period frame with a textured craquelé finish that complements the work perfectly. A piece of great decorative and collectible value, ideal for lovers of mid-century marine painting and European figurative expressionism.
